May 19 Control 60
Jenny took a deep breath while counting to four. She held it for another four-count before releasing it to a count of eight. And again. Once she regained control of her breathing, her heart rate modulated to a steady rhythm. She looked at the thing that caused this panic attack. The tiny frog looked at her from her breakfast bowl.
May 20 Pain 30
It's over before you know it's happening. You hear the "thunk" of head meeting concrete. You feel the dripping from the gash near your eye. You sit up. Everything hurts.
May 21 Drop 70
They said the extra work would just be a drop in the bucket. What they neglected to note was that the bucket was already full of unfinished business. This one thing could set the whole thing flowing over, and then what?

May 22 Electric 80
"This house is perfect." Jessica fawned over the wide front porch with its swing and hanging geraniums. Three bedrooms and a finished attic for her home office. James could have the basement for his sound studio. The fenced-in backyard already had garden beds ready for planting. It was a dream come true.
Jessica spun in the open living room, but stopped when she saw James standing in the kitchen looking dour. "Not perfect," he muttered, looking at the stove. "Electric."
May 23 Work 100
Jake watched the kids play on the bright park equipment. The kids played hard, just as he had as a kid.
"Those were the days, weren't they?" Jake asked his pal, Mike.
Mike drained the coffee from his cup. "Yeah, but I remember metal slides and chains that burned whatever touched them."
Jake smiled at a memory. "Remember when we told Mary that the slide wasn't hot?"
"Yeah, she never walked right again. That's what she gets for wearing dresses," Mike snorted, adding, "It's nearly 8. We'd better get to work."
The men tossed their cups and headed separate ways.
I take it that Jenny has brothers? 🐸 And James is silly - appliances can always be replaced! I forgot about the metal slides... ouch! Nice batch of micros!
