A character who likes to send postcards
Angel signed the postcard with his usual flair. It was the seventh for the week and Angel was certain he would earn the communication digital badge this month. He had fallen just short in the last badge cycle, so he determined to send at least one postcard a day to ensure he hit the required total. This one was going to Brazil, so he flipped through the stamps in his folder for an international one. They cost more and Angel wished he could get double credits for the postcards he sent abroad.
Coming up empty, Angel put the card in his messenger bag, figuring he could stop by the post office on his way to work. He wanted to show the kids this one anyway. He usually showed them the coolest ones he found and he pictured their third grade faces as they looked at this card with its lumps and irregular colors.
“What do you think it’s made of?” he would ask. He smiled as he imagined the quizzical quality of their expressions as they tried to guess. They wouldn’t guess. Angel had made this one himself of paper fibers and flower seeds. The little bit of ash that turned the pulp cool gray would go unnoticed by the postal services, but the recipient would know exactly whose it was.
