Write about a happy return
authoritative disparity
“both good and bad”
A character who doesn’t know what they want
Sheila slammed the package on the return counter. She was fed up with the authoritative disparity behind products marketed to women: higher prices, lower quality, endless returns. She wasn’t certain what she wanted, but she was furious about constantly returning items—ironically through a carrier called “Happy Returns.” She recognized both good and bad elements of online shopping, especially easy returns, but would prefer better quality that she could use.
The clerk shook his head in disgust. How many of these returns came across his counter every day? Hundreds? What a waste of time and money.
And no one was happy.
