This is fantastic. As an undergrad, I wrote a paper about Nietzsche and masking. Now, it seems prescient. People who are autistic mask it because of the social pressure to do so. I don't. Not anymore. Thanks for inspiring my next piece! And, Sunday Mass with actual humans--and all those wonderful rituals remains the highlight of my week. I also attend AA and that human contact has saved my life.
